Formal research in technology – is a conception that we, Bangladeshis are not much acquainted with. When number of countries including our neighboring India heavily started to contribute to Software and IT Research during the early years of this decade, Bangladesh had just begun to learn the advancement of IT. Although the IT industry in Bangladesh has existed since the early or mid 1990s, it was the early years of this decade that saw the emergence of conception such as IT outsourcing, Software Engineering etc in very small scale. Hence, it can easily be assumed that formal research in technology yet to have even a faint stand in usual IT and Software Engineering practices in Bangladesh. This does not conclude that we have lack of talent in any form; in fact, we have proven talents that created magical contributions in global IT/software/technology oriented researches from different developed countries around the globe.

The mission of CIBL Research Lab (CRLab) is to:

Advance software and information technology through research activities and partnerships FROM BANGLADESH.

• formally introducing software and IT research practices in Bangladesh
• focusing on techniques, methods and processes for development of large complex software intensive systems
• pursuing the discovery of principles and the development of technologies to support the engineering of large, complex software systems
• fostering innovative basic and applied research in software and information technologies
• educating the next generation of software researchers and practitioners in advanced software technologies
• guiding Bangladesh to play her part in global software and IT research leveraging the extraordinary youth talent scattered around the country, and make a strong statement to the world in technological innovation and advancement
